Hi, I am Rachelle. 

 I enjoy working with adults, and I have a particular interest in healing unresolved trauma. I have a holistic and humanistic approach to counselling in which I honour both the mind-body connection and each client’s unique individuality and experience. 

Approaches I work with include Person-Centred Therapy, assisting clients to achieve self-actualisation, becoming the best version of themselves. My gentle approach encompasses Gestalt Therapy, working in the here and now to support the process of working through our unhealed parts and into wholeness. I use tools from CBT, ACT, EFT, Somatic Healing, Inner Child Healing work and Mindfulness-Based Interventions.  

My focus on healing trauma and PTSD has led me to treating clients using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences. While reforming the negative beliefs associated with these experiences into positive beliefs.

Addressing Trauma

EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to
resume its natural healing process.

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

My other passions include running support groups, therapy groups and personal development groups. As a counsellor, I enjoy providing a safe space for authentic, compassionate, insightful, and challenging support to my clients.  

In addition to my therapeutic work, I enjoy family time, spiritual growth, music, reading, running at the beach and cycling in nature.
